Italian Design Day 2019 - Giornata del Design Italiano nel Mondo

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy in collaboration with the Ministero dei Beni e delle Attività Culturali, Triennale di Milano, the Italian Trade Promotion Agency - ICE, Confindustria, the Salone del mobile Milano, the Association for the Industrial Design, the “Compasso d'oro” Foundation and the Federlegno Arredo is promoting the third edition of The Italian Design Day "Giornata del Design Italiano nel Mondo". The event aims to celebrate the excellence of Italian design in the world as an important sector of the Italian culture and economy as well as, all features that have made Italian design famous, prestigious and recognizable. The initiative involves 100 "ambassador" of Italian culture (designers, entrepreneurs, journalists, critics, communicators, professors and etc.) from 100 cities around the world. Starting from the theme “Design and the city of the future. Quality of life and new frontiers of living”, the discussion highlights the ability to improve the quality of living of Design Made in Italy.

The Italian Embassy in Belgrade and the Italian Cultural Institute in Belgrade organize the third edition of the Italian Design Day on Wednesday, 20 March 2019 at 7.00 pm at the Museum of Science and Technology in Belgrade. Public art & Public space - PaPs is supporting the celebration of the Italian Design Day in Belgrade from the first edition and this year, including the participation at the conference. This year’s conference focuses on the relationship design and sustainability. On this occasion Matteo Fantoni dello Studio Fantoni di Milano (Italy), meets the architect Zoran Đukanovic from of Faculty of Architecture in Blegrade (PaPs) for an exchange of experiences and public discussion.

On the occasion of the event, the Museum of Science and Technology will also feature the exhibition "Ten Words". It includes the works of 30 designers who illustrated ten words of the Italian language related to the world of culture and design. The exhibition is the result of the project "Italianism" which valorizes the connection between the Italian language and the world of design.
