Italian Design Day 2022
Italian Design Day (IDD) is an initiative promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, the Association for Industrial Design (ADI), the Compasso d'Oro Foundation, ICE Agency, Confindustria, the Milan Triennale, Salone del Mobile Milan, Federlegno Arredo and the Altagamma Foundation. The initiative serves to celebrate the excellence of Italian design in the world. This year's theme is "Regeneration. Design and new technologies for a sustainable future".
This year is the sixth edition of the Italian Design Day. For the occasion, the Italian Embassy in Belgrade, the ICE Agency in Belgrade and the Italian Institute of Culture in Belgrade, together with the Italian-Serbian Chamber of Commerce and Confindustria Serbia and in collaboration with the Museum of Applied Arts in Belgrade and the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Belgrade, present the conference entitled: "Italian Lighting Design: intelligent light for intelligent cities. Italian excellence in lighting design at the service of people''.
The event is scheduled for 23 March 2022 at 5 p.m. at the Museum of Applied Arts, Vuka Karadžića 18, Belgrade, Serbia.
Participation in the conference is open, as long as there are available seats, but it requires a registration via email economico.belgrado@esteri.it.
Prof. Corrado Terzi, an architect specialised in lighting design, and other important experts in the sector, will talk about the functional and architectural use of light by sharing projects from the experience.
Thanks to the partnership with Artefacto, Buck Lighting, Berlight Design, Light studio-Artemide and Lusso, the event will feature a rich display of lighting design pieces (and more) from leading Italian companies, which are international leaders in the sector.
Why lighting technology?
Light is an integral ''material'' of architecture. It defines, exalts, creates, enhances, shapes, influences the perception of spaces and affects people's well-being. Lighting technology is therefore increasingly establishing itself as a new frontier of design that combines innovation, craftsmanship, creativity, environmental sustainability, energy efficiency, psycho-physical well-being and urban health.
Lighting design is at the service of the cities of the future, where quality of life and respect for the environment go hand in hand with the beauty of the products made. These themes are also at the heart of Rome's candidacy to host EXPO 2030.
